Art Submission Guidelines
This page is here to explain what kind of artwork is best for us to work
from to create your shirts. If you would prefer to have us create the artwork, then the condition
of any reference pictures is not much of an issue. You can give our artist some basic ideas and
she will come up with several variations, and then work with you until you are satisfied. If the
artwork takes less than thirty minutes to create, there is no charge for artwork. After the first
thirty minutes, we charge thirty dollars per hour.
If you would like to bring in artwork that is camera ready, here are some
guidelines. Remember, if you are bringing in a digital file, we are working on a PC.
- For line art, we prefer to have one copy of the art with no color fills, and one copy that shows where the color goes.
Please make sure the art is solid black with no halftones, smudges, whiteout or pencil lines.
Please make sure any area that is to be filled in has a solid line all the way around it.
- For a photo or painting, bring in a clean copy that is 8½ by 11 inches if possible.
Keep in mind that very small pictures do not enlarge very well.
- For a Vector based file such as an AI or CDR, convert all fonts to objects, and include the font files and a JPEG so that we
can make sure nothing has fallen out of place. It also helps if you can use spot colors if it is going to be printed in spot colors,
or CMYK if we are printing it as a four color process.
- For a bitmap image, a layered Photoshop file is prefered. If that is not possible, a bitmap with a white or transparent background
will do. All bitmaps must be at least 300 DPI at actual print size. If the image looks sawtoothed when you print it out, that
is how it will look on the shirt!
